For the Employer we provide customized training for current employees to enhance/upgrade their current skills match you with potential employees that have specific skills you are seeking. We also provide incumbent training in addition to having available, qualified, job ready employees.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING & CUSTOMIZED TRAINING

Title I of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) defines that on-the-job (OJT) training be provided under contract with an employer in the public, private non-profit, to private sector. Through OJT contracts, occupational training is provided for the WIA participant in exchange for the reimbursement of up to 50 percent (50%) of the wage rate to compensate for the employer’s costs. A realistic training plan must be constructed which documents the skills required, stipulates a schedule for achieving those skills, and contains criteria for measuring and monitoring the attainment of those skills. After completion of the OJT contract, the employer would then hire the trainee.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND INTERNSHIPS

Work experience and internships are similar in their structure and the Southern Nevada Workforce Investment Board (SNWIB) views them as synonymous for the purpose of employment and training services for adults and dislocated workers. Individuals completing work experience/internship programs are eligible to receive appropriate certificate and/or credential of completion. Work Experience/Internships: A planned, structure learning experience that takes place in a workplace for a limited period of time. This includes a works study program, which enriches the client’s academic knowledge, and offers work experience toward the client’s specific career goals. CHR, Inc. will pay half of the employee’s wages up to 45 days, while the contracting employer is training them.

INCUMBENT WORKERS PROGRAM

Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and administered by the Office of Workforce Development, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Incumbent Worker Training Program is designed to provide funding assistance to qualifying Southern Nevada's for profit companies to provide skills training to full time permanent company workers. The training must be a business necessity that will enhance companies abilities to compete in global economies, expand present markets, and help ensure the permanency of businesses in Southern Nevada. For the workers, the training will upgrade present work skills, heighten job security, provide marketable skills, and increase the possibilities for higher wages and promotional opportunities. The CHR, Inc. staff administers monitors, evaluates and provides fiscal and agreement compliance assistance during the training process.
